Preaching Today

"The Miracle on the Mountain"

There is only one miracle that is recorded in all 4 Gospels (aside from the resurrection). It is the feeding of the five thousand. We're going to look at this today and notice some things that are often overlooked, and challenge ourselves to be more generous.

Wish you could be here.

Easing Back Into The Saddle

Hello everyone. Sorry again that my blog has gathered some cobwebs. As I mentioned, I have been recovering from surgery. I am feeling quite a bit better. I am going to try and rev up the frequency of my posting. Thanks for continuing to read and please check back often.

For now, here is a link to a sermon I preached earlier this week in Lexington, KY called "Fixing Our Faith." You can listen to it at their website by clicking here (date of sermon: June 9, 2009).

Until later, Keep the faith.

Preaching Today...

"Right Before His Eyes"

Psalm 73

Psalm 73 is a Psalm written by David's chief musician Asaph. It is a remarkable piece of literature. Asaph begins with v.1 praising God but quickly dives into an account of his struggle with faith. Asaph had observed the prosperity of wicked people and questioned whether serving God was worth it. But his tune quickly changes.

In the second half of the Psalm Asaph praises God and defends his justice and benevolence.

What caused such a change in Asaph? Read Psalm 73 to find out. Or if you like; let me know and I will send you a copy of the sermon.
